FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Straight answers to what buyers ask us most before placing an OEM/ODM order.

What is the minimum order quantity (MOQ) for a custom PDU?

Our MOQ starts at 50 units for a customized rack PDU, and we accept smaller pilot batches for proof-of-concept projects. Sheet metal and profile customization is free of charge — you do not pay tooling fees for custom dimensions, colors or socket layouts.

How long does it take to deliver a custom PDU order?

Standard lead time is 2 to 4 weeks from confirmed drawings to shipment. Samples for a new custom design typically take 7 to 10 working days, including mechanical and electrical 3D design, prototyping and full-load aging tests.

Which certifications do Yiestar PDUs carry?

Our products are covered by ISO 9001, CCC (3C), ETL (Intertek), CE, RoHS, CB/VDE, UKCA and UL/GS. Every unit passes polarity, insulation-resistance, high-voltage, functional and full-load aging tests before shipment — 100% inspection, not sampling.

What is the difference between a metered, monitored and switched PDU?

A metered PDU measures power at the inlet and shows it on a local LCD. A monitored (smart) PDU measures each individual outlet. A switched PDU adds remote on/off control of each outlet. Our intelligent iPDU comes in four series: Type A (total-circuit metering), Type B (per-outlet metering plus control), Type C (per-outlet control only) and Type D (per-outlet metering only).

Can you build a PDU with mixed socket standards on one chassis?

Yes. We routinely combine IEC C13/C19, NEMA, Schuko (DIN49440), UK (BS1363) and industrial IEC 60309 sockets on a single chassis — for example 8 UK plus 8 Schuko plus 8 NEMA 5-15R across three phases. This is a standard customization, not a special request.

What monitoring protocols do your intelligent PDUs support?

SNMP v1/v2c/v3, Modbus TCP and RTU, HTTP/HTTPS, SSHv2, MQTT/MQTTS, Syslog, NTP and full IPv6, with TLS 1.2, AES128 and RSA2048 for encryption. This lets the PDU integrate directly into DCIM and building management platforms without a gateway.

How much power can a single Yiestar PDU deliver?

Standard rack PDUs cover 10A to 125A. Our high-power range runs from 63A up to 3×250A using three-phase five-wire distribution with Anderson Powerpole P34 terminals, designed for AI compute, HPC and cryptomining racks that run at full load 24/7.

Do you support OEM branding and private label?

Yes. We provide full OEM/ODM service including your logo, corporate colors, custom housing dimensions, bespoke socket arrangements and neutral or fully branded packaging and documentation.
